Don't Get Crushed: Encouragement for Anxiety & Depression

We live in an age of anxiety and depression. Sometimes, we can get lost in a sea of those emotions, feeling as if we’ll be crushed under the weight of our problems and circumstances with no hope in sight.As an anxious “pastor’s kid,” I thought life would crush me to death, but God loved me too much to ever allow that to happen. He made provision for me, changed my direction and walked with me through every stressful situation I experienced.On my life’s journey, I’ve learned that the anointing is released through struggle, and God knows what challenges are necessary to bring each of us into our divine purpose.Because I was a college dropout and lost my mother as a young teenager, I really thought that I was the “least likely to succeed,” but God had a plan for me and turned my life completely around.By God’s grace, I married an incredible man who became my pastor, and we raised sons and cofounded a ministry together. As the Lord would have it, I also became a community advocate and eventually went on to finish college.I want to encourage everyone in saying this: despite the obstacles you may encounter in this life, when you trust God continually, He’ll see to it that you live out your dream.Anxiety and depression can’t destroy you when you supplicate yourself under the mighty hand of God.
