Are 2 AAA batteries required to operate the SoftSpeaker 3K whether I use the AMP ON or OFF? Yes. The two batteries (even if dead) are necessary to complete the circuit for proper operation. I have a new iPhone that has a Lightning connection for the headphone jack. Will the SoftSpeaker 3K connect to it? No. You will need to have or purchase a Lightning to 3.5 mm (1/8") Female Headphone Jack Adapter. In some cases, your iPhone may include one. When listening to the SoftSpeaker 3K the audio is distorted or garbled. Why? Check the battery level by pressing & holding the button on the left side above the volume control. If only one light appears, replace the AAA batteries. Can the SoftSpeaker 3K amplifier stay on continuously? No. The sleep timer needs to be set to stay on for 1, 4 or 8 hours. When you press and release power button once (one red light), the sleep timer is automatically set for one hour. Press and hold the power button down to select 4 hours (two red lights) or 8 hours (three red lights). When I use the SoftSpeaker 3K with the AMP set to OFF, will the sleep timer work? No. The sleep timer only affects the amplifier when batteries are inserted. When AMP is off, the SoftSpeaker 3K uses no power. When I try changing the Tone or setting the Sleep Timer nothing seems to change. Why? The Power and the AMP needs to be ON in order to use the Tone or Sleep Timer.
